Mr. McCollum died Thursday, April 23, 2009, in Tyler. He was born March 22, 1933, in Tyler to Charles E. and Pauline McCollum. Robert McCollum resided in Tyler for the last 15 years, and formerly in Houston. He was a retired educator, having served as a principal and director of elementary education in the Galena Park Independent School District in Houston. He is survived by his wife, Martha McCollum of Tyler; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jenni McCollum of Houston; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Laurie McCollum of Hurst; and grandchildren, Matthew and wife Courtney McCollum of Plano, Madeline McCollum of Houston, Emily McCollum, Brock McKee, Andrew McCollum and Lydia McKee of Hurst. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren in addition to Hoyt Berryman, Larry Corley and Jerry Yancy. Memorials may be made to Royal Family Kid's Camp; or Bethesda Clinic, 301 W.
