Billy W. Dean
Funeral for Billy W. Dean, 75, Lawton, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Joe Price, pastor, Denton Baptist Church, Marlow; and the Rev. Vivian Garza, pastor, Antioch Baptist Church, south of Lawton, officiating.
Mr. Dean died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, in a local hospital.
Burial with fire department honors will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
He was born July 10, 1929, in Lawton to Felix Jefferson and Emilee Jewel Rawlinson Dean. He was reared in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1949. He married Lila Butler on Nov. 4, 1950, in Lawton. He joined the Lawton Fire Department in 1950 and retired in 1972 as assistant fire chief.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Patti Dean, Ardmore; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Karl Boyer, Lawton; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Paul and Oleta Dean, Lawton; Kenneth and Peggy Dean, Midland, Texas; and Jimmy and Karen Dean, Oklahoma City, a sister and brother-in-law, Floella and Joe Lightsey, Jonesboro, Texas; a brother-in-law, John C. Elkins, Lawton; four grandchildren: Trish, Bryan, Kelleigh, and Kendahl and her husband T. J. Zimmerman; and a great-grandchild, Haleigh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Erma.
